Heather Says Removing the Tattoos Was the Easy Part | Flickr - Photo ...

Tattoos are permanent pictures on the skin and they are made with the use of a needle that has indelible ink on it. However, tattoos are not that permanent anymore. By this we mean that people sometimes decide on having a tattoo only to regret it in the end, and so they find ways on how to remove it. What, now, is the best tattoo removal method available?

Well, there are various ways by which a tattoo can be removed. Dermabrasion and salabrasion are two examples. These methods of tattoo removal are among the older ones. They have been around for a long time, and they are usually used when laser removal is not an option. In dermabrasion, the skin is sprayed with a numbing solution and then sanded. Salabrasion is very similar to dermabrasion, except for the fact that a salt water solution is applied first to the skin before it is grinded or abraded. Because these methods are very painful and cause bleeding, most people opt for other methods such as laser removal.

Laser treatment is chosen by many because this procedure is bloodless and no incisions are made, and also because the laser selectively targets the pigment of the tattoo without damaging the surrounding skin. In laser removal, the laser directs energy toward ink in the skin with highly concentrated colored light beams. These laser beams break up ink particles into tiny fragments which are later cleared up by the bodys scavenging cells.

Other methods for tattoo removal include the use of do-it-yourself removal creams, TCA or trichloroacetic acid, and glycolic acid peel. These methods are becoming more widely accepted now, especially because they are not painful unlike laser treatment and the two older methods, dermabrasion and salabrasion. These techniques, however, wont get rid of the tattoo overnight. Instead, they will fade the tattoo over time.

So you see tattoos are no longer the permanent marking that they used to be. Although they may not be removed completely with some methods, tattoos now can be erased. All you have to do is to find the best tattoo removal method.

Has anyone used Dermasel to remove a tattoo?
If so, how well did it work? Do you suggest any other methods (other than laser) to remove tattoos?

coverup – that will probably be the best way to change your tattoo. Wrecking balm, dermasel, etc. may fade your tattoo somewhat but it won’t remove it. The only true way to get this done is through laser surgery which is extremely costly and painful.

I saw your previous question about how you got your tattoo done while on vacation on what sounded like a splurge moment. I would say that the best thing to do in the future is to do your homework on artists and on what artwork you want to get done on yourself moreso prior to getting your tattoo.

How can you remove an indian ink tattoo from the skin?
Hi about 15 years ago i rather naively put the words XTC onto my arm in indian ink. Not fully realising and/or thinking about how it would be there for the rest of my life. I was young and naive.
Anyway ive heard that there are various laser treatments and other treatments to remove tattoos from the skin. But its not exactly easy finding out more info even google doesnt return many results for “how to remove indian ink”

Has anyone else ever used indian ink and then succesfully removed it afterwards? Id be very greatfull for any help and maybe these might help other people too? I just want to get rid of that ugly reminder of a part of my life!

Check with a spa in your area that specializes in beauty treatments (chemical peels, laser treatments, botox, etc.). If they do not perform the laser tatoo removal there, they may be able to refer you to someone who does. I warn you though, mine was very painful and expensive. It is not something that is done in one appointment – it can take up to a year or two depending on how deep the ink is (every 8 weeks). It may or may not scar – mine didn’t and that’s the reason for getting laser – it’s not supposed to scar, but it can if the tatoo is very deep. Another method would be to check with the local tatoo artists and see if any of them tatoo with lemon juice. This is a method of removal also, and I’ve heard it works great on indian ink. Good luck to you!

wrecking balm doesnt do shit. Ive been burned on a couple on my tattoos, and it took the ink completely off. I would try that. If the tattoo is small enough, and you dont mind the pain, and scar, and healing process. Burning can work.
